Protect our Countryside
The protected Heritage Coast of Dover is under threat from a proposed unprecedented 70 acre industrialised 600 place HGV lorry park !
Let's not let this happen to our beautiful, green and pleasant land !
It doesn't have to be this way, there are plenty of of alternative and suitable sites outside protected National Landscape areas, and before both the Channel Tunnel and Port of Dover on the M20 that are suitable, viable and adequate.
Don't Let This Happen
This is Eco vandalism of the highest order, look at what you stand to lose !
If you disagree with this misuse and destruction of our protected and iconic white cliffs countryside write to your elected members today!
Unprecedented Destruction Proposed
No Council has ever allowed an HGV lorry Park to built upon in a National Landscape in England- Don't let Dover Council be the first !
Over 600,000 people visit the iconic white cliffs Heritage Coast every year
This proposal would destroy the use of 70 acres of perfectly good and productive farmland used for food production, all the while that the UK faces increased food security problems and a drop in food self sufficiency
There are only 33 National Landscapes in England - not one of them have a huge 70 acre HGV Lorry Park
The proposed site is at one of the highest points on the White Cliffs Heritage Coastline and soon to be Internationally recognised UNESCO geological Park between France and UK
Lorry Parks should be built in the most effective and least sensitive locations, ideally before both the Channel Tunnel and Port of Dover to aid traffic management - This one is proposed 8 miles after the Channel Tunnel exit at Jnc 11a on the M20. This doesn't make any sense!
If this lorry Park gets built on the most highly protected land in the country we may as well rip up the rule book on protected landscapes - what is next for concreting over- The Pennines, The Cotswolds, The North Devon Coast, The Wye Valley??
The Kent Downs National Landscape (AONB) Est 1968 - destroyed 2026 ?????
Let's Stop it Together
